As the festivities of the holidays speed into full gear, the Holly Springs High School Dance Program participants are once again gearing up to bring their annual  free performance of The Nutcracker to the community.  New this year, is an event to highlight their upcoming performance.   “Clara’s Sweet Dreams Brunch” is being hosted this year by the HSHS dance parents and students to raise funds that will help defray some of the cost of the performance production.

HSHS Cheerleading is One Tough Sport

Gone are the days when high school cheerleaders simply cheered the crowds on, clapping their hands, chanting rhythmic verses, complete in saddle shoes and pleated skirts. Today’s cheerleaders still rouse the crowd on the sidelines, but they are much more than this. They are athletes in a sport involving height and motion that is inherently dangerous, performing in competitions that until recently were held at the collegiate level. Our cheerleaders have transformed into young performers with stunts that require daring athleticism, and skill. For, cheerleading has evolved into a sport of its own.
