James “Jimmy”Cobb, experienced civic leader, involved citizen and knowledgeable business executive has filed for election to the Town Council of Holly Springs.

“For over 14 years, I have been blessed to call Holly Springs home. I remember moving here before Food Lion was opened and we had only 900 citizens.” James Cobb, who goes by ‘Jimmy” responds.

As an experienced civic leader, Cobb has supported Holly Springs by working as Chairman of the town’s Board of Adjustment for three years of his eight years on the board. Cobb currently contributes to lead the town by serving on the Holly Springs Planning Board.

Cobb also served on the steering committee for the “Vision Holly Springs Comprehensive Plan.

As the past-president of the Kiwanis Club of Holly Springs for three consecutive years, Cobb facilitates this club’s outreach to local children. Frequently breaking out from “behind the scenes” club activities, Cobb is popular as the Principal in the Kiwanis Club’s Haunted School and as the Grinch in the Christmas Parade for the Town of Holly Springs.

“My three children are products of the Wake County School System. Two have graduated and one is in middle school. I have volunteered in my children’s schools and with the local Cub Scout troop. I moved here from Rocky Mount, NC where I worked with City in Schools, Lions Club, Rotary Club and was past-president of The American Heart Assocation there… so serving our community of Holly Springs is second nature.”

Holly Springs is a town of incredible diversity. All members of the Holly Springs community need representation… the mature and young, rich and poor and the people who have lived here all their lives and our new neighbors who joined us this past week. I can offer this representation.” Cobb continues.

Cobb is a certified public accountant with Alexander Guess, CPA PA in Cary, NC. He has over 30 years of accounting in public, private and governmental accounting.

“My business experience will be an asset to the Town of Holly Springs. I have a Bachelor in Business Administration with concentrations in accounting and economics. Town finances are second nature to me.”
