The Polar Ice House location in Garner will host an open house in honor of National Skating Month this Saturday, February 6. The fun-filled afternoon includes free group skating lessons and free admission when you sign up for any Garner location program, including track-out camps, summer camps, learn-to-skate or birthday parties.

Professional coaching staff will be on-site to conduct group lessons separated by age and ability level from pre-school to adult. The goal of National Skating Month is to raise awareness for both the sport and learn-to-skate opportunities at neighborhood ice rinks around the country. Polar Ice House offers skating lessons and classes for children age three through adults, in addition to specialty classes for advanced figure skaters.

With the Winter Olympics just around the corner, Silver Medalist Elena Betchke will share her Olympic figure skating experience and bring her medal to the event. Additional activities include sled races, face painting, a figure skating demonstration and raffles with prizes including free skate school, free camp admission or birthday party
