A scooter riding Holly Springs teenager was arrested and charged with an armed robbery in Goldsboro.

According to a press release by the Goldsboro Police Department, on July 29 at approximately 4:10 p.m. a man who works at Jaman Seafood in Goldsboro reported the store had been robbed at gunpoint and money was taken from the cash register.

“He stated that two black males came into the store and that one of the suspects pointed a handgun at him and demanded money,” a statement from the Goldsboro Police Department said. “The suspects took an undetermined amount of money and fled the store on a dark-colored scooter.”

Goldsboro Police officer M. Green and other members of the Goldsboro police department stopped the scooter.

“The riders of the scooter fit the description given out by dispatch and a “show-up” identification was done.”

The Jarman Seafood employee was brought to the traffic stop and positively identified the two suspects. Police arrested Justin Maurice Devaughn, 17, of Goldsboro and Joshua Joel Corrica, 17, of Holly Springs. Both suspects were charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon. They were placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

The money and the gun used in the robbery were recovered.
