Holly Springs Resident Andrea Dillon stood in her driveway along Cayman Avenue on Friday afternoon looking a little stunned. She came home to find a tree down in her yard and several signs that what she saw along NC 55 had touched down right in her own backyard. "We were coming home from Charlotte and we saw a funnel cloud in this direction, and we saw the tail touch down."

Another Holly Springs resident, Andrew Benke was eating at Wendy's on NC 55 and according to him, "All of a sudden it got really dark and everything was whipping all around!"

Progress Engery workers wasted no time getting out to a tree that was laying on power lines along Main Street next to the old Hood's property. The limbs took out power to the neighboring businesses and caused traffic lights to cease working.
