The Holly Springs Golden Hawks Youth Wrestling Club sent four wrestlers to the AAU Top Dog Wrestling tournament near Charlotte Saturday, Jan. 9. Wrestling in a very competitive, packed tournament which hosted over 500 youth wrestlers, the Golden Hawks had three wrestlers place and earn seeding points for the NC AAU State tournament which will be held in March in Winston-Salem.
Placing for the Golden Hawks were Tyler Finch (second – Midget 85 lbs); Nick Connochie (third – Novice 105 lbs); and Soren Hill (fourth – Bantam 60 lbs). The Hawks will be traveling to Virginia to compete in the Smith Mountain Lake Open Saturday Jan. 16.
