Holly Springs Golden Hawks Football players and their families were introduced to their new head coach this earlier this evening. Former Fuquay Varina football coach, David Riggs will take over as the head of the Holly Springs Golden Hawks. Riggs retired from coaching/teaching two years ago, but decided to return to coaching after a conversation with HSHS's Athletic Director, Andy Wheeler. Riggs commented, "I was called to give some suggestions for coaches that may fit the program, and that got me thinking. One thing led to another, and I put my name in."



Wheeler said, "I asked a lot of people for advice when it came to finding a new head coach. I called Coach Riggs because of his experience. When he said he was interested his name went in the pool of applicants, and he was chosen. His experiences and the success he can bring to this progam is what our athletes here deserve. The Hawks really raised the bar last season, and I think Coach Riggs is going to raise that bar even higher next year."
