AARP Driver Safety Class On Tuesday, March 2, at the Apex Community Center from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., join your friends in a safety learning experience by taking this AARP Driver Safety Program, one-day, refresher course especially designed for drivers aged 50+. (Class is open to all age groups) This is a new course especially designed for those who previously were unable or chose not to take the traditional two-day course. This is the oldest and largest course of its kind and it will bring you up to date on such topics as knowing yourself, your driving partners on the road, safe driving techniques, today’s highways and laws, your vehicle and you and judging your driving fitness. All who attend will receive a completion certificate. Some insurance companies offer premium discounts to graduates. Check with your insurance agent. There will be a 45 minute lunch break and other rest breaks. Participants must provide for their own lunch. Fee: $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members (payable by check to AARP before class) to cover the cost of workbooks and training aids. AARP members must bring their membership cards to class.
