Ok, lets get this part out of the way. It’ll cost about $2,000, give or take, more than last years retreat, which by most accounts yielded dismal results. Council members were too acessible to family and friends. There were more time constraints and distractions. Carolina Inn provides for the money, accomendations, 5 meals, the meeting room, and an undisturbed weekend for the council to get work done. Divide that among the residents of Holly Springs and by my quick rough math, that’s about a dime each. A dime. Let me say again, a dime. Let me check my couch for loose change. With economic times the way they are it’s MORE important than ever to be thorough with our plans. This tells me two things. One, the council IS acting responsibly. Residents should expect the most from them. The second, well it seems Vincent just can’t go quietly. Need I remind residents Vincent’s use of staff time and cost he incurred for his numerous witch hunts that came up empty? Some of his antics even threatened upcoming commercial projects. Was that a responsible use of tax moneys? Maybe he doesn’t understand why the residents didn’t invite him to another 4 years. I think I do. We needed to cut our losses. By the way, if anyone still thinks this is a problem, give me a call. I found a few extra dimes in my couch. Joseph Signoretti, Citizen, Holly Springs.
