Last month, the Optimist Club of Raleigh recognized three Holly Ridge Middle School students as winners of their annual essay contest. This year’s essay topic was “The Internet: Today’s Evolution or Tomorrow’s Menace?” The winners and their parents attended a special Optimist Club luncheon where the students were awarded scholarship checks, medallions, and certificates of participation. All three winners are 7th grade students in Ms. Valita Papes’ Language Arts class.
