Holly Springs High School’s first principal, Luther Johnson, Jr., passed away last spring. At the beginning of this school year, the Holly Springs High School PTSA asked students and staff what they would like for a memorial for Mr. Johnson.
They wanted a tree and bench in the courtyard. The PTSA was able to purchase both this year.
Many thanks to Ellen Darst with GreenPrints for delivering and planting the Japanese maple free of charge and to the school’s Construction Club for donating their time to install the bench.
The HSHS PTSA hopes that this memorial reminds students, teachers and staff at Holly Springs High School of their first leader and his drive for “Building a Tradition of Excellence”.
