“Kids Appreciation Day is a great opportunity for all of us to appreciate our children and give them a great day full of fun and smiles,” said Joe Lofaro Kiwanis Vice President and Membership Chairman. “I urge others to join our Club in serving the kids of our community and for the good of our future generation.”
This year, as in past years, several groups help out with KA Day. Event co-sponsor Holly Springs Parks and Recreation helps with supplying some equipment for the event as well as donating the Karaoke DJ that entertains the attendees during the event. The Holly Springs School of Dance entertains to the delight of the crowd.
The Holly Springs’ police and fire departments assist the attendees by showing off their vehicles and giving a police dog demonstration.
The Holly Springs High and Middle Creek High schools Key Club members also volunteer their time as do other youth groups, such as the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Board.
In other words, there are lots of kids and lots of fun for all.
“Each year the club sees an increase in the number of people who support KA Day and the club’s mission in Holly Springs,” said Brian Adornetto, Kiwanis President. “Our kids depend on us to develop this club to empower them to succeed, reward their efforts, and give them opportunities to serve their community.”
The sponsorship and event funds will be used to support the event and Kiwanis youth leadership initiatives in Holly Springs; such as scholarships for disadvantaged kids, dictionaries for elementary school kids, and the Holly Springs and Middle Creek high schools’ key clubs.
Depending on the funds donated, there could be even more youth projects in Holly Springs. All children attending the event will get one free SnoBall, a piece of NY Pizza, a “Friend of Youth” raffle ticket, and a lot of entertainment from vendors, such as F&M Entertainment’s blow up rides.
Additional refreshment and raffle tickets will be sold at the event. All will also be able to cheer on the award winners during the Terrific Kids ceremony. Any individuals, organizations, or businesses interested in taking part in this end-of-school year community celebration for kids are invited to sign up to be a vendor, volunteer, and/or become a sponsor of the event. There is no vendor fee, but you must register and there are some restrictions. Sponsor funds are welcome and encouraged.
