Holly Grove Middle School Principal, Ken Proulx, Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Tony Gurley, Holly Springs Mayor Dick Sears, Wake County School Board Chair Ron Margiotta, and Interim Superintendent Donna Hargens, participated in the ribbon cutting ceremony that included student performances, and a self-guided tour of the facility.

Holly Grove Middle School expects to welcome approximately 975 students for the 2010-11 school year. This new middle school prototype was designed by Skinner Lamm & Highsmith Architects. The 197,071-square foot building is located on a 14.88-acre site adjacent to Holly Grove Elementary and Holly Springs High.

Taja Seafus (Eighth grade), Thomas Golden (Sixth grade) and Jake Baize (Seventh grade) led the Pledge of Allegiance during the ceremony.
