Free Concert Series The final performance in the Rhythm at the Pavilion free concert series is slated for 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 21at the North Carolina Veterans Memorial, 210 S. Main St., Broadway. Four Heart Harmony, an award-winning gospel music female quartet from Broadway, is slated to perform. This popular group has won the Female Quartet Trophy at the State Annual Sing Competition in Benson, North Carolina, for 13 of the past 14 years and was voted Favorite Quartet in the Southeast Region of the United States by the Country Gospel Music Association of Pulaski, Virginia in 1998. Proverbs22 Homeschooling Ministry We are excited to announce Proverbs22 Homeschooling Ministry of Fuquay-Varina Baptist Church. We are open to the community. Our goal is to provide interesting classes for the children and a support system for moms. Moms will be able to fellowship with each other and participate in a light book study. Fall semester starts Sept. 20 and ends Dec. 13. We will offer a nursery for children ages 6 months to 3 years, a two-hour Kindergarten class for pre-K and Kindergarteners, 4 and 5 year olds and two one-hour sessions for grades first through third and fourth through sixth on Mondays from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We also will have field trips and socials to participate in. Holly Springs Food Cupboard Holly Springs Food Cupboard has incorporated as a NC non-profit and has signed an umbrella agreement with Apex’s Western Wake Crisis Ministry to provide food and resources for those in need in Holly Springs. It is the hope of the volunteers organizing this service that all of Holly Springs will join in the effort to take care of our own. Volunteers will collect, organize and distribute nonperishable food items in September along with supplemental resources from Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Yoga in the Park Yoga in the Park is back for its third year at the Mineral Springs Park on South Main Street. Meals on Wheels needs volunteers Meals on Wheels is currently seeking volunteers to deliver meals to the elderly and homebound in the Fuquay-Varina/Holly Springs area.
